Freedom lies in being bold

I heard bits of his quote and it made me feel so inspired, I'll share it here...

"Young folks allow themselves to simply float through life without defining their path. Time doesn't mean the same to them. Time feels like an endless promise, health feels like it will last forever and love is a new discovery. Growing older, the thickening of time becomes louder, a little more every day.
You start to feel imprisoned by your decisions, your choices, the path you went on without even realizing it. You didn't choose your house, your wife, your degree. You floated, from what was told to you, you obeyed. You followed someone else because you simply didn't know better.
Youth is wasted on the young because they haven't learned the value of the gift they have received: life. Life, your life matters, who you are is important and you must value it as your biggest asset, your most important possession, your only possession. So you stand up, you fight for something, you do something, whatever, and don't give up. You give your best to your life.
Right now, you are trapped in decisions you didn't make and that life made for you, you are not free because you didn't have the courage to be bold. 
Learn to be bold and you shall be free. "

Addiction is a mental illness.  It has all the characteristics of a mental illness along with being a tabu subject, and therefore a hidden conversation between families and friends. These posts regarding addiction urge to raise awareness and understanding of the process of AA, common behaviors and personality traits of addicts.  STE P TWO "We came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore our sanity." As I said in the first step, AA literature has been misconstructed and misunderstood by those who enter with closed minds and hearts. That is the point of the very first step. To admit that you have failed, that you do not know everything and that not everything is under your control. Not even your life. And then, opening your mind, your perspective with humble eyes. Have you given a hard and honest look at those things that surround you? Do you like them? Mentally ill millennials

Why "mentally ill millennials"? Honestly, sounded funny and cool with the right amount of whiny-teen-feel. Also, the SEO. But, on top of everything, that's what I am, and that's what I'm hoping this blog will attract. I am tagging myself as a mentally ill millennial because I am 23, with severe chronic depression and mild anxiety. It's a fact. I resent the notion of this subject being some sort of fashion, a product; something people consume, something I'm selling to people to stop and whine and feel bad about ourselves and live horrible lives and drive us towards suicide. This isn't something I sell. This is my life. This is my struggle and this is my fight every day. I'm not even trying to sell you my story. I'm trying to reach people that suffer the same illness. "There's a soldier trapped in a hole and he can't get out. He yells for help. A lieutenant passes by and says: "Suck it up, son. Dig deep." and throws him a shovel. The soldier does as he's told and digs that hole deeper. Obeying but not understanding. Frustrated he yells for help again.
